Lake Auburn Watershed By-Laws

The By-laws for the protection of Lake Auburn came into effect in August 1991. These laws protect the quality of Lake Auburn by designating allowed uses within the lake and its watershed. There are over 5000 Lakes in Maine and 54 of them are used as sources of public drinking water. Half the State receives their drinking water from public water supplies. Protection of these resources should be our #1 priority. Please keep this in mind when visiting Lake Auburn. If you have questions regarding these laws, please contact us.
